Model A Youth Restoration Award

The Model A Youth Restoration Award was originated and is administered by Charlie Viosca

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

We are incorporated in the state of Texas.

We have established our board of directors for 2007, 2008:

This award is sponsored by the following MAFCA/MARC Regions Chapters: The Dallas Model A Ford Club of Dallas, TX; The Victoria A’s of Victoria, TX; the Capitol City A’s of Austin, TX; the Palomar A’s of North San Diego County, CA; the Orange County Model A Ford Club of Santa Ana, CA; the Piney Wood A's of Houston, TX;  the Minuteman Chapter of Sudbury, MA; the Modesto A's of Modesto, CA; the Victoria Association of Frisco, TX; the Pomona A's of Pomona, CA; and the Santa Anita A's of Arcadia, CA.

The following Model A Ford parts vendors contributed in 2006; Sacramento Vintage Ford; Danaher Tool Group; Snyder’s Antique Auto Parts; Piranio’s Antique Auto; Mike’s “A” Ford-able Parts; LeBaron Bonney Company;  Harry’s Early Ford Parts; Wallace Wade Specialty Tires; Bratton's Model A Ford Parts; Mitchell Manufacturing; and Aries Mufflers.

The Model A Ford Club of America is a contributor to this award.

In 2006 there were three one time contributors: Northern California Roundup Group; Gallopin' Gertie Chapter and the Willamette Valley Chapter.

In 2006, we had five applicants and each of them received $1,168 in cash, parts and gift certificates. The award winners are: Timothy Angert - Manheim, Pa; Scott & James Gulliksen - Carrollton, TX; Jonathan Hughes - Irvine, CA; Keith Munson - Orange, CA and Michael Minton - Spring Creek, NV.

Repeat winners are: Brice Peters, - Salem, OR; Garret Simms - Golden, TX; Daylan Gibbard - Walla Walla, WA and Jeff Fink, Kingwood, TX.

The Model A Ford Restoration Award is available to all children and grandchildren of  both MAFCA and MARC (or the applicant can be a member of either or both of these two clubs on his/her own). The award is presented at MAFCA National Conventions and alternating with MARC at their National Conventions. The award is presented every other year. The next award will be presented at the 3rd MAFCA/MARC Joint meet in Dallas, Texas in 2008.

NOTE: Application must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2008.

Qualifications:

A. It is open to all children and grandchildren  of members of either of the two National Model A Ford Clubs.

B. The child or grandchild  shall be between 12 and 21 years of age.

C. The child or grandchild must possess and be in the process of restoring a Model A or AA Ford.

D. The restoration activity must be directed toward completing a Blue Ribbon/Fine Point or Touring Class Model A Ford. Help can be provided.

E. The restoration shall be intended for personal use (not for resale or by contract for another individual).

F. Modified or Hot-Rod projects are not eligible for consideration.

The Grant amount awarded to each winner selected is determined by the money in the Restoration Award Bank Account (divided equally among all the applicants) plus items donated by Model A Ford vendors).
